4 Can’t Miss Music Festivals in 2017

With the Kentucky Derby Festival culminating in the world-famous Kentucky Derby earlier this month, you may be wondering, “what’s next?” The summer fun is just beginning, though, and the coming months are looking musical here in Louisville. Starting in May and continuing into fall, here are four incredible music festivals you don’t want to miss in the Louisville area!

Abbey Road On The River - May 25 - 29

The first festival on the calendar is technically in Jeffersonville, Indiana, but it’s a quick trip - just walk across the Big 4 Walking Bridge and you’ll find the Abbey Road On The River Festival. This multiple day event was originally created to honor the musical genius of The Beatles, and now hosts nationally recognized bands and tribute groups from around the world. Check out the lineup here and reserve your tickets!

Forecastle Fest - July 14 - 16

Forecastle Fest in Louisville is one of the most exciting weekends for music in the area. Featuring a massive, popular lineup, this event draws tens of thousands of visitors every year to Louisville’s 85-acre Waterfront Park. This is always a weekend to celebrate, so mark your calendar and get your tickets early!

Bourbon & Beyond - September 23 - 24

The music doesn’t end with summer in Louisville, and with September comes the annual Bourbon & Beyond festival. This event is the perfect blend of bourbon, food, and music. Featuring world-famous music artists, chefs, and the best bourbon in Louisville, this fall festival at Champion’s Park is a local favorite. There’s even RV and car camping sites to give you the full festival experience!

Louder Than Life Festival - September 30 - October 1

If you enjoy Bourbon & Beyond (see above), you can come back to Champion’s Park the following weekend for the Louder Than Life Festival! In its fourth year in Louisville, Louder Than Life brings rock’n’roll, craft beer, gourmet food, and (you guessed it) bourbon to the shores of the Ohio River. 2017 lineup and ticket info is forthcoming so keep checking back for full details!
