That means we can shed our winter coats, head into the great outdoors, and enjoy all the local nature, arts, and attractions of Greater Louisville. With so many options, we’ve picked our top 10 places to visit with the whole family. Let’s explore!
Where better to start your Louisville exploration than at our own zoo? Featuring over 1,500 animals on 134 acres, this is a day trip worth making. Whether you’re into butterflies, monkeys, amphibians, or endangered species, The Louisville Zoo lets you get up close and personal with animals from all over the globe.
It goes without saying that no trip to Louisville is complete without a trip to the iconic Slugger Museum. This year the LSM is featuring a Lego exhibit - baseball art built with Lego bricks! Of course, the factory tour, signature wall, batting cages, and other museum exhibits will be waiting for you too. You’ll know you’re close when you see Babe Ruth’s 120 foot exact-scale bat replica leaning gently against the building.
If your family can’t make up their minds, there’s sure to be something for everyone at Louisville Mega Cavern. Featuring the world’s only fully underground zipline, ropes course, and underground bike park, this is an outdoor lover’s dream! If you’re more the watch-and-learn type, LMC offers underground tram tours so you can take in the incredible depths of the underground caves!
